Reduced Luminance Optic (RLO) consists of indirect-mounted LED arrays illuminating a vaulted reflector with a matte white finish of greater than 95% reflectivity. The ultra-shallow arrays in the RLO completely conceal the light source while evenly distributing brightness across the entire cavity surface using multiple reflective bounces and very high diffuse reflectivity. Compared to diffusing optics, the RLO reduces luminaire brightness because the visible interior surface is larger than the aperture.
