A custom lighting strategy creates a welcoming environment for connection and collaboration.
For a company in the business of building offices, space is important. So, when it came time to reimagine their own Montréal office, construction and infrastructure company Pomerleau envisioned a workplace that would reflect the company’s evolving culture and flexible approach to work. Lumenwerx collaborated with the design team to support the vision with a lighting plan that ensures effective illumination throughout, while reinforcing a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Designed as a hybrid workplace, Pomerleau’s new environment features gathering areas, meeting rooms, an amphitheatre, and social spaces. The overarching idea behind the design was to create opportunities for people to connect and strengthen company culture. As such, the lighting strategy needed to balance comfort with the architectural expression envisioned by the design team.
To support these varied experiences, Lumenwerx developed a plan that incorporates our Via collection of luminaires in two complementary expressions: Via 2 surface and Via 1.5 pendants. Above the company’s reception area, Via 2 fixtures are installed in a staggered pattern to help define the arrival experience. Along with comfortable ambient illumination, the geometric installation gracefully echoes the surrounding architecture.
Within open workspaces, Via 1.5 pendants continue the visual language through a structured grid arrangement. Overhead, their clean profile integrates into the ceiling plane without visual clutter, providing low-glare illumination that complements task lighting below. The finished lighting strategy helps transform Pomerleau’s workplace into something more than an office, creating a comfortable environment where culture and collaboration connect.
