Via 2 and Via 2 Acoustix luminaires help shape an open, human-centric environment for NYSTEC.
Designed to be an open, transparent workplace with unassigned workstations and casual work areas, NYSTEC’s (New York State Technology Enterprise Corporation) new headquarters needed a flexible, and architecturally distinct lighting system. Working closely with architects MARCH Associates and interior designers QPK Design, Lumenwerx conceptualized a strategy to fit.
The site’s comprehensive lighting plan centered on our Via 2 and Via 2 Acoustix luminaires, chosen for their adaptability across the diverse work settings, and precise, low-glare illumination needed in a busy office. Via 2’s gentle lighting and precision optics also helped maximize the space’s ample daylight and long sightlines.
In open areas, including walkways and other high-traffic zones, Via 2 Acoustix luminaires in particular played an important dual role. Constructed from sound-absorbing felt, these fixtures provide effective illumination while dampening sound reverberations throughout the space. Thanks to their stylish good looks, they also enhance site architecture by integrating seamlessly into the ceiling plane.
In addition to the luminaires themselves, the lighting system includes PoE-based controls to create a cohesive, technology-driven workplace that supports the well-being of occupants. NYSTEC’s headquarters shine a light on all the ways collaboration in lighting can transform the workplace into a human-centric environment where people can be at their best.
