Learn how 6-sided Hex linear luminaires shape space and reflect brand heritage at Campari America’s NYC HQ.
When Campari America set out to relocate their headquarters from San Francisco to NYC, the company had a broad design vision—to create a workplace that embodied their Italian heritage and captured the buzz of NYC. With this mandate, design firm Gensler was brought in to transform two upper floors of Midtown Manhattan’s landmark Grace Building into a workspace reflective of the brand’s “Toasting Life Together” philosophy.
Working in conjunction with lighting consultancy Lighting Workshop, Lumenwerx supplied linear luminaires from our Hex collection to outfit the open workspace portion of the build. According to the designers, these two-tone black-and-white linear pendants not only served to provide adequate illumination for the 100% open offices, but were actually inspired by a poster from the Campari archives.
The six-sided Hex pendants form a visual and architectural focal point that aids in the overall brand story of the space. In addition to providing an expressive touch that complements the layout, each Hex cell contains its own LED array, ensuring uniform brightness throughout the room.
Overall, Hex’s flexibility allowed the design and lighting teams to shape a distinct atmosphere while helping create a sense of place for Campari staff who will work in the open-concept office. And, with Hex’s snap-in panels, the luminaires connect seamlessly along the ceiling, contributing to the clean aesthetic the architects and client were looking for. We’ll toast to that.
