Learn how curvy Curvia luminaires help shape light and define space in a busy office setting.
Done well, lighting can play an essential role in shaping how a workplace is experienced. At the CONA Services office (an IT organization that supports Coca-Cola), lighting helps create an environment that supports focused work, spontaneous collaboration, and social interaction. As part of a lighting system that includes luminaires from a number of manufacturers, Lumenwerx contributed a solution to the office’s open yet intimate collaborative spaces.
Our Curvia luminaires were selected to achieve the goal of lighting these large spaces without making them feel too cold or industrial. With their fluid geometry, Curvia fixtures trace a continuous path along the perimeter of the ceiling, their soft corners framing the gathering spaces and meeting tables below. What’s more, the luminaires create a luminous outline that subtly organizes the open floor plan, fostering a sense of intimacy while distinguishing collaborative zones.
In addition to their shape and flexibility, key elements of the solution, Curvia’s direct/indirect light distribution also plays an important role in articulating the atmosphere of the office. While the indirect light softly washes the ceiling, the direct optic provides comfortable, even illumination across work surfaces, reducing glare and enhancing visual comfort in the space. In circulation areas, flowing Curvia runs also guide movement as people come and go.
The result is lighting that feels integrated into the architecture rather than competing with it. Curvia’s luminous lines shape space as unmistakably as the rounded curves of a Coca‑Cola bottle define a classic. Delicious.
