We have liftoff. Lumenwerx partners with RMW architects to design a comprehensive lighting strategy for an aviation startup.

Aviation startup Supernal’s Laguna Canyon office perfectly exemplifies how intentional lighting can enhance productivity, comfort, and architectural design. Through an integrated combination of luminaire types, our collaboration with architecture firm RMW successfully addressed all three.

From the outset, RMW sought a lighting strategy to complement Supernal’s high-tech culture. The lighting needed to support spaces that are flexible, open, and tailored for collaboration. Working closely with the architects, we developed a palette of luminaires from a variety of collections, each selected for its ability to balance performance, visual comfort, and aesthetics.

In open workspaces and circulation areas, sleek Aera 2 Downlight recessed fixtures integrate seamlessly into the ceiling plane, delivering general illumination through compact LEDs and refined optics. To address ambient noise in those same shared spaces, Via 1.5 Acoustix pendants, made of sound-absorbing felt, were incorporated into the plan, providing efficient illumination alongside discreet acoustic control. For added architectural expression, a mix of Shell Round and Shell Square introduces balanced forms with tunable white and static white options.

Finally, modular Cluster Combinations pendants blend downlighting and linear elements in visually engaging compositions. Beyond simply illuminating the space, the finished strategy clearly supports innovation and reinforces Supernal’s vibrant culture. Ultimately, it demonstrates how intentional lighting can elevate a workplace, helping it feel more like home than an office.
