Lumenwerx partners with STUDIOS Architecture to design a lighting strategy that’s big on contrasts and energy.
At WHOOP’s Boston headquarters, illumination reinforces the fitness tech company’s “Always On” culture. Spanning 120,000 square feet of collaborative workspace, labs, social areas, and an in-house gym, lighting helps shape zones of activity, guide circulation, and maintain focus. Our strategy, developed in tandem with STUDIOS Architecture, uses a suite of Lumenwerx collections to complement the architecture and deliver performance that goes far beyond standard office lighting.
Throughout circulation paths and collaborative zones, our Via Perimeter fixtures offer low-glare linear lighting to support wayfinding and add luminous spatial definition. In more wide-open workspaces like breakout rooms, Shell Round pendants in black, offer focussed lighting from fixtures that contrast with the whitewashed industrial ceiling.
In design-focused spaces, our Squero pendant pattern fixtures, again in black against white ceilings, deliver a flexible, focused solution that supports intricate tasks. In a similar interplay of light and dark, our Quad narrow round pendants take centre stage in the company gym. These provide spatial definition and ample illumination for workouts while creating a glowing, high-energy presence against the gym’s blacked-out walls and ceiling.
For a company that aims to be “Always On,” the outcome of our lighting strategy couldn’t be more aligned. From space to space, lighting supports WHOOP’s corporate ethos while integrating performance and comfort, much like the wearable health monitors the company manufactures.
