Lumenwerx partners with FGM Architects to design an immersive lighting strategy for St. Charles Community College.
At the Center for Immersive Learning at St. Charles Community College in Cottleville, Missouri, lighting does more than illuminate space. In this progressive learning environment, it helps build anticipation, guide movement, and support immersive education. To make it happen, our team collaborated with FGM Architects to develop a comprehensive lighting strategy featuring luminaires from our Via, Curvia, and Forma collections.
From open hallways to classrooms and virtual reality stations, each luminaire plays a central role in setting the tone for use. Decorative fixtures such as our Curvia 2 Capsule Pendants and Forma Cupola Pendants help establish soft, ambient layers of light, with diffused output that balances visual comfort with a welcoming atmosphere.
For additional layers of illumination, Via 1.5 Recessed and Via 1.5 Pendants with integrated Quadro RGBW technology enable dynamic colour capabilities. These luminaires allow for dramatic visual shifts using saturated hues and layered effects that echo the immersive, story-driven nature of the centre. Vertical and patterned Via applications further enhance this effect, creating a sense of movement and visual intrigue along key pathways.
The overall result is a lighting strategy that amplifies architecture to create moments that make students feel that they’re part of something truly transformational, exactly what a college should feel like. A real-life example of light shaping the way to a brighter future.
